AHS qualifies for regional track meet
Several members of the Athens High School varsity boys track team qualified for regionals Thursday when they competed at the UIL Area Track Meet in Paris. Hardy Swann won second place in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:33.62 and third in the 3200 meter with a time of 9:55.47. The 4x400 relay team of Bret Horn, AJ White, Lazavion Lee and Eli Perkins took third place with a time of 3:29.59. In the 400 meter dash, Lee won third place with a time of 49.99, and Perkins took fourth with a time of 50.00. They will all compete at the regional preliminaries on April 28 at Texas A&M Commerce, with an opportunity to qualify for finals on the 29th.
